Niantic cancels Pokemon GO GDC Presentation | Japan Beta testing registrations begin

Pokemon GO, Probably the most single hyped mobile game that has yet to release. Given the fact it is based on one of the strongest IP in video game history this is no surprise.

Last month Niantic Labs Inc developers of Pokemon GO stated Pokemon Go will be demonstrated at GDC 2016. Since then time has changed and Pokemon Go presentation for next month has been cancelled. CEO of Niantic states:

“We have decided to forego our GDC talk on Pokémon GO in order to focus on getting the product ready for beta test and launch. As much as we hate to disappoint those in the industry attending GDC, we feel our time and energy right now are best spent on making sure every aspect of the product is where we want it to be.”

While that may have been bad news concerning Pokemon GO there does seem to be some good. Beta registration for Pokemon GO in Japan has begun and if you are from Japan you can register HERE.

As far as the west and other expanded markets regarding the beta Niantic notes: “stay tuned for information about expansion of the field test to other markets.” Which hopefully means by the end of the month.
